New features for more accurate simulation and optimised delivery processes
The last mile is one of the most complex and cost-intensive sections of the supply chain. Tight time windows, vehicle availability, location restrictions and rising expectations in terms of speed and sustainability pose considerable challenges for planners. With version 3.4.0, anyLogistix is expanding its functionalities with a new experiment that is specifically tailored to these requirements.
Last-mile optimisation as a standalone simulation module
Until now, the last mile was often part of holistic supply chain models – now this area can be analysed and optimised separately. With the new experiment, users can model specific delivery routes without having to rebuild the entire network. This enables faster evaluation of alternative routes, locations or delivery concepts.
Detailed parameterisation for realistic planning
At the heart of the new tool is the ability to accurately map operational reality. This includes:
- Vehicle types, capacities, return rules
- Loading and unloading times at customer locations
- Time window restrictions and gate rules
- Geo-coordinates for exact route planning
- Restrictions on route guidance and driving times
This granularity enables planning that is not only theoretical but also operationally feasible.
Preview table for valid input data
A common problem in simulation is the quality of the input data. anyLogistix 3.4.0 provides a remedy here: a preview table clearly lists all customer orders before the experiment begins. Missing or implausible information is flagged and can be adjusted manually – for example, in the case of temperature-sensitive deliveries or time-critical tours.
Results dashboard with practical key figures
Once the experiment is complete, comprehensive results are available, including:
- Travel times per tour and total distance
- Loading and idle times
- Costs and CO₂ emissions
- Service level per order
- Overview of the status of individual deliveries
These results can be exported, used for follow-up analyses or integrated directly into other anyLogistix scenarios.
New welcome page for a better overview of everyday work
In addition to the new experiment, version 3.4.0 also features an optimised start page: user roles, project status, recently opened files, learning resources and documentation are now easier to find and better organised – a real added value in day-to-day business.
More control on the most sensitive route
With anyLogistix 3.4.0, the last mile is fully usable as a separate analysis area for the first time. For companies that want to plan their delivery processes more realistically and optimise them in a more targeted manner, the new release offers a sound and practical solution.
